Meet a L2L team member: Setareh!

She is our ‘Social Media & Communications’ manager and is involved in LIFE2LIVE from the beginning, both behind the scenes and also on site with different projects. When asked why she is so involved Setareh simply answers self-evidently: “Because we are all human and we need help each other.”

Meet one of our volunteers: Tarek!

Coming from a family of refugees and migrants it is in his nature to help people in need. Even though he currently lives abroad, Austria is his home country where he was born and raised. Every time he visits Vienna, Tarek gets in touch with us to volunteer. We asked him why he gets involved: “I am overwhelmed with the urge to participate and contribute to the efforts being made to feed, protect and provide shelter for refugees. Despite being in Vienna quite seldom and usually only for very short visits, I am extremely grateful to participate.”

Football Player Zanyar

This is 20 year old Zanyar who arrived in Vienna three months ago. He is a very talented football player and is already playing 2nd league football in Vienna with the ‘Nussdorfer Athletik Club 1907’. On top of that he is very eager to learn German as soon as possible, so he spends 25 hours a week in the library studying. We support his eagerness to learn the language and are sponsoring him the VHS German course. We wish him much success in all his endeavours!

Natural Talent Farid

Farid is in Vienna for a few months with his wife & his two daughters and he is particularly studious! Within one month he learnt German so well that he was classified for the A2 German course at the VHS. We signed him up today and are sponsoring him the German course. He has classes three times a week as of May. He’s very motivated and looking forward to it! We wish him all the best!

Successful Charity Auction with OFID…

What a successful evening!
Thank you to OFID & its entire staff for the great charity auction & also to Raiffeisenbank. Special thanks to Rachel Ben Ftima Mohawege and Nahal Tabatabai-Chury for their tireless efforts! With the creativity of the talented artists and the generosity of the many bidders the items auctioned raised €20.270 (excluding the proceeds from items that are still on sale as well as the donation box). It was a very fun & exciting event. We are very honoured to be chosen as the organisation to receive the proceeds of the auction and guarantee that it will reach where it is needed.
